Nicholas Semrad is a composer, producer, and keyboardist whose music lives at the intersection of ambient sound design, modern classical composition, and emotional improvisation.

Over the past decade, Semrad has toured and recorded with artists including Empire of the Sun, Cory Henry, Gabriel Garzón-Montano, Lauryn Hill and Mark Guiliana. Known for his deeply textural approach to sound and instinctive musicality, he has become a respected voice across genres—equally at home in intricate improvisation, cinematic minimalism, and expansive electronic landscapes.

In addition to his work on stage, Semrad has contributed to a range of acclaimed film and television scores as a member of composer Kris Bowers’ team. His synth and ambient design can be heard in projects such as The Wild Robot, Secret Invasion, Space Jam: A New Legacy, and DMZ, as well as the upcoming feature film Bride Hard. He is also featured as a performer in Disney’s Haunted Mansion (2023).

Now emerging as a solo composer, Semrad’s work explores themes of impermanence, reverence, and personal transformation —blurring the lines between acoustic intimacy and electronic atmosphere.
